As part of the China-Central Asia Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum, Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China signed a trilateral agreement to strengthen strategic collaboration in the gas sector.

The agreement was signed by Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov, and Dai Houliang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNPC, in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.

The document outlines joint commitments to support key strategic initiatives, including a subsurface use project at the "Northern-1" block, joint geological exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources, and the enhancement of technology partnerships through collaboration between research and technical centers.

The agreement reaffirms the shared commitment of Kazakhstan and China to deepen their strategic partnership in energy, promote technological integration, and jointly build a resilient gas infrastructure connecting the two nations.
