Vogel Announces More Than $6.8M in Grants for Projects in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties

HARRISBURG - Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) announced projects in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties were awarded more than $6.8 million in Statewide Local Share Account funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) today.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Act allocates proceeds from online gaming revenue to support projects in the public interest across the commonwealth.

"These grants represent a significant investment in our communities and neighborhoods here in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties," said Vogel. "It is critical that our local infrastructure remains reliable and our recreational areas and roadways remain safe for all who reside here. I am pleased to support these projects and look forward to seeing our residents benefit from them."

Below is a breakdown by county of the approved state funding:

Beaver County: 29 municipal projects were awarded more than $5 million.

Butler County: 10 municipal projects were awarded $1.7 million.

Lawrence County: Two municipal projects were awarded a total of $100,000.

Due to the high volume of projects, a full list of CFA-approved projects for the 47th Senatorial District can be found here.

The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and administers the commonwealth's economic stimulus packages.
