Romanian-American joint training activities conducted in Smârdan Training Range

Soldiers of the 284th Armor Battalion "Cuza Vodă" and American soldiers who participated with five M1A2 SEPv2 Abrams Tanks conducted joint training activities between January 29th and February 4th, at the Smârdan Training Range, in Galați County.

The activities included tactical exercises at the small unit level, force management procedures, as well as live fire exercises conducted both during the day and at night. The training objectives aimed to increase the training level, enhance interoperability and strengthen cooperation between Romanian and US military personnel.

Such exercises will be held periodically and contribute to maintaining a high level of readiness, as well as to enhancing cooperation within NATO.

In the coming days, the United States' forces and military equipment will be redeployed from the Smârdan Training Range to the Novo Selo Training Range, Bulgaria.
