Street, sidewalk and parking closures on East Ash Street, April 8
(COLUMBIA, MO)- Beginning at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, Budrovich Crane Rental will place a new air conditioning unit on top of the Boone County Courthouse, 705 E. Walnut St.
Both lanes of East Ash Street will be closed between North Seventh and North Eighth streets. The south sidewalk within this block will be fully closed and portions of the north sidewalk will be impacted within the work area. Signs will direct pedestrians to alternate routes around the closure.
The Go COMO Black Route, which normally travels on East Ash Street, will detour using Park Avenue and North Seventh Street. No bus stops will be missed; however, the Armory Sports Center stop will be served on the west side of the intersection of North Seventh and Ash streets instead of the east side.
The Go COMO Orange and Gold routes, which are currently detoured to East Ash Street due to construction on Park Avenue, will temporarily return to their normal route on Park Avenue April 8. Buses have been using East Ash Street to avoid ongoing construction activity on Park Avenue from March 24 to Aug. 27. No bus stops will be missed.
Metered parking spaces within the closure area will also be closed. "No parking" signs will be posted on affected meters at least 24 hours in advance.
Work is expected to be completed and the street and sidewalk reopened by 4 p.m., weather permitting.
