Tickets for Winter Play Festival, Feb. 6-9, on sale at Stone

Show dates for the 2025 Winter Play Festival, six original works created, directed, designed, and managed by student artists, are February 6-9, and tickets go on sale Monday, January 29, Louisiana Tech's School of Theatre has announced.

Show times are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The Stone Theatre Box Office hours are Monday-Friday, 1:30 - 4:45 p.m.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children, and $2 for students with a valid student I.D.

This year's Winter Play Festival theme is Not All Who Wander Are Lost, a prompt to encourage collaborative student-centered exploration through the journey of theatre creation. Some of these productions contain themes some may find upsetting, including but not limited to abuse, mental health, and threats.

Here are brief descriptions of the student-created works to be performed.

  1. GIF - Grief is Funny, written by Vanna Richardson and directed by Dr. Jeremy Reynolds.

Janie attempts to scatter the ashes of her birth mother when she learns the family legends are true and receives ancestral guidance on a major life decision.

  1. Please, Help Me? written by Ryann McClure and directed by Amber Shaye.

After getting stuck in a piece of plastic, a turtle named Brantley searches for a way to get free in hopes of growing up to be a food critic.

  1. How Did We Get Here?, written by Christian Williams and directed by A Fish

Aiden, a high-school senior, faces the highs and lows of life while wrestling with his own personified psyche. Through humor and heartache, this play explores the raw journey of mental health and a self-discovery search for identity and connection.

  1. Walking on Eggshells, written by Castiel C. and directed by Jackson Gemborys.

Tensions run high as Detective Humpty Dumpty is interrogated on the mysterious death of his partner, Frosty D. Snow.

  1. Bruised Barbies, written by Jackson "River" Dammers and directed by Hannah Allen.

Movies are not real, but some directors go to any lengths to get the shot they want without considering the adverse effects.

  1. Some Assembly Required, written and directed by Logan Sapp and Katie Dugger.

For fear of losing their toes to Mr. McGillicuddy, Earnie, Del, and Sam engineer a plan to cover themselves after losing $6,000 at the racetrack.
