The recalled ATVs violate the mandatory ATV safety standard because the speed-adjusting module included with the vehicle allows for the ATV's speed to be adjusted in excess of the maximum speed for vehicles intended for children 6 years old and older, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a crash.
The bicycles violate the mandatory safety regulation for bicycles, because they are not equipped with a chain guard. Loose clothing can get entrapped in the chain drive, posing a risk of serious injury or deadly crash hazard. In addition, the bicycles do not comply with the labeling requirements.

The recalled bicycles' front lock nut can loosen during use, causing the front wheel to dislodge or loosen over time, posing a crash hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually. Since the CPSC was established more than 50 years ago, it has worked to ensure the safety of consumer products, which has contributed to a decline in injuries associated with these products.
Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a Commission ordered recall or a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the CPSC.
