Book Authored by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka Launched

The book "The Army Commander's Promise to the Nation - I Shall Not Leave This War Behind to the Next Army Commander", authored by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, was launched at a ceremony held yesterday (09 December) at the Defence Services College Auditorium in Colombo.

Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), attended as the Guest of Honour.

Field Marshal Fonseka delivered a speech at the event, reflecting on his experiences and the leadership challenges he faced during a decisive period in Sri Lanka's modern history.

The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including members of the Maha Sangha, Mrs. Anoma Fonseka and family members, Tri-Forces Commanders, former Army Commanders, military contemporaries of the Field Marshal, members of the diplomatic corps, retired senior officers of the Tri-Forces, and other invited guests.
