RALEIGH - Today, the New York Post exposed a bombshell failure in Roy Cooper's leadership. Nearly 50% of the inmates handpicked for Roy Cooper's COVID-era release program reoffended and committed horrific crimes including rape, child exploitation, and murder. The numbers are horrifying. At least 18 North Carolinians are dead at the hands of criminals who should have never received one of Cooper's COVID get-out-of-jail cards. Another 80 of those criminals released from prison have since been arrested for sex crimes including rape and child molestation. More than 540 have been charged with violent or serious felonies. North Carolina U.S. Senate candidate Michael Whatley issued the following statement: "Nineteen innocent North Carolinians are dead because Roy Cooper chose to let violent criminals walk free." "This was a deliberate, reckless choice that prioritized violent criminals ahead of innocent North Carolinians. Roy Cooper failed at his most basic duty as governor, protecting the people of North Carolina." Click HERE to read the full New York Post article. |
