Gitanas NausÄ—da congratulated President-elect of Estonia Ãœlle Madise

In his letter of congratulations, Gitanas Nausėda highlighted the excellent and long-standing relations between Lithuania and Estonia. This year marks the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Estonia and the 35th anniversary of their restoration.

"I firmly believe that the time-tested friendship and mutual trust between our nations will continue to provide a solid foundation for the flourishing of a broad and multifaceted dialogue between our countries, and that during your tenure as President of the Republic of Estonia, we will continue to consistently strengthen our close cooperation," the message of congratulations reads.

Gitanas Nausėda emphasized that Estonia is an important ally of Lithuania. According to the Head of State, Lithuania and Estonia work together to pursue our strategic objectives, ensure the security of the Baltic region, and support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and democratic values.

"In the context of security and global challenges, our close cooperation within the Nordic-Baltic family, as well as at the European Union and NATO levels, is becoming increasingly more important. I am confident that, guided by our shared objectives, we will continue to strengthen the partnership between our countries," the President underscored in his message of congratulations.

Gitanas Nausėda wished the President-elect of Estonia every success, determination and strength in serving her country and its people.

The Lithuanian leader also invited the Estonian President to visit Lithuania, emphasizing that such a visit would be yet another expression of the excellent cooperation between Lithuania and Estonia and would further strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
