The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks with several of his counterparts from brotherly countries in New York on Saturday, as part of his participation in the High-level Week of the 79th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Mr Attaf held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Gok.

Mr Attaf and the Jordanian Deputy PM focused on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as in the Middle East region in general, in the face of the continuing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip and the stubbornness of the Israeli occupation, which continues to escalate on several fronts.

The two parties also discussed ways to enable the Palestinian cause to gain further support internationally during this GA session, as well as prospects for strengthening Algeria-Jordan relations.
