Stakeholder Consultation: Dairy Sector Guidance for Implementing the GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSRS)

Overview

The International Dairy Federation (IDF) is pleased to announce the opening of a stakeholder consultation on proposed Mass Balance Chain of Custody Guidance for GHG reporting within the Dairy Sector.

The enclosed consultation document represents the outcome of a collaborative effort across the global dairy sector to develop a single, aligned approach to implementing the GHG Protocol's Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSRS) within the dairy value chain. Please read the Covering Letter for more details.

How to Participate

We invite all interested stakeholders to review the consultation document and provide feedback.

To submit your feedback:

  1. Download the Mass Balance Chain of Custody Guidance for GHG reporting within the Dairy Sector and the official Consultation Feedback Form:
  1. Complete the feedback form with your comments and recommendations
  2. Submit your completed form to [email protected] by the consultation deadline: 25 September 2026

Please note: Responses must be submitted using only the official consultation feedback form. Feedback received after the deadline will not be considered.

Next Steps

Stakeholder input collected during this consultation period will be carefully reviewed by the IDF Action Team and subject matter experts. Following the consultation period, feedback received will update the finalization of the LSRS-aligned guidance, which is anticipated to be formally launched in November 2026.
