DNC Congratulates Democratic Nominee James Talarico on His Victory in the Texas Democratic Senate Primary Arrow

Last night, Democrat James Talarico clinched victory in the Texas Democratic primary for U.S. Senate. As an eighth-generation Texan, former public school teacher, and Presbyterian seminarian, Talarico will never stop fighting to put Texas families first.

While Republican politicians continue to hemorrhage support as Trump's deeply unpopular policies raise costs on Texas families, the DNC is all-in to support Talarico, who ran on an agenda to protect health care, lower costs, and build a more affordable Texas.

In response to James Talarico's victory, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

"Across the Lone Star State, Texan voters saw James Talarico run a campaign focused on hope and opportunity rather than fear and division. He connected with folks at the most fundamental level, understanding the shared values of Texans and their hope for a restored American Dream. As an eight-generation Texan, former public school teacher, and Presbyterian seminarian, Talarico spoke directly to what Texas families care most about, from the rising cost of groceries, electricity, and utilities to a massive health care crisis unleashed by Donald Trump and Republicans. After over thirty years of failed Texas Republican leadership, Texas Democrats have the momentum and enthusiasm on their side - outvoting Republicans in this primary season and winning special elections across the state. Texas Republicans fear James Talarico, and from now until Election Day, the DNC will be on offense, going all-in to support him to ensure Texans have a leader who will stand up for them, not Donald Trump."
