On August 28, Ambassador Yang Yang and Hon. Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret'd) Mark Phillips attended a ceremony marking the donation of generator sets valued at approximately US$3 million by BOSAI Minerals Group Guyana Inc. to the Government of Guyana. Guyana's Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation Deodat Indar, Chief Executive Officer of Guyana Power and Light Inc. Kesh Nandlall, and representatives of the company also attended the event.

Ambassador Yang noted that Guyana is at a critical stage of accelerated development, with sustained economic growth placing greater demands on energy supply and infrastructure capacity. The donation responds to Guyana's immediate needs and reflects the commitment of Chinese companies to contributing to the country's development. China stands ready to further align development strategies with Guyana and advance practical cooperation in energy, infrastructure and other areas.

Prime Minister Phillips thanked China and Chinese companies for their longstanding support, noting that the equipment would help strengthen Guyana's power supply, support local economic development, and improve people's livelihoods. He expressed hope that the two sides would continue to deepen practical cooperation in support of Guyana's broader economic and social development.
