The Trust for Public Land (TPL) released its annual ParkScore index for 2026, ranking Portland's park system 9th nationally among the 100 most populated cities in the United States. This is the fourth year in a row that Portland's park system has been among the top 10 nationally.
"Congratulations to all the people and organizations whose time, energy and investment keep us in the top 10," says Sonia Schmanski, Portland Parks & Recreation Interim Director. "Thank you to neighbors who use their parks, community members who are able to volunteer, staff who care for these spaces as their own, and partners who help deliver strong programming every day."
