IAIER Launches Google AI for Education Accelerator

North Carolina Central University (NCCU), through its Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Research(IAIER), is expanding access to cutting-edge technology and career training through a new collaboration with the Google AI for Education Accelerator.

The initiative gives NCCU students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members no-cost access to Google's advanced AI tools and professional development resources. Participants can earn Google Career Certificates-industry-recognized credentials that build job-ready skills in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity and project management.

As one of the first historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) to join the program, NCCU is helping bridge opportunity gaps and prepare learners for success in an AI-driven economy.

"This partnership with Google is part of our commitment to equipping students with in-demand AI and career skills for today and tomorrow," said Siobahn Grady, Ph.D., founding director of IAIER. "This initiative will help prepare our students to become leaders in an AI-powered economy, and we're proud to be at the forefront of this educational evolution."

Through the accelerator, participants will also have access to Gemini and NotebookLM, Google's latest AI-powered tools that support learning, research and creative work. The collaboration builds on IAIER's mission to drive innovation, foster research and provide pathways for students and professionals to engage with emerging technologies.
