Applications Open for City’s Low-Income Homeowner Assistance Program

Greensboro residents whose City of Greensboro home property tax was higher in 2025 than it was in 2021 may qualify to receive a check for the difference. For the fourth year, the City is offering a program to support Greensboro's low-income homeowners.

Applications may be submitted using the online application system. It allows applicants to select from dozens of languages, such as Spanish, Arabic, and Khmer. The deadline to apply is October 31.

Financial assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.

When entering the online system, applicants must create an account by following the prompts. At the "Start a New Application" section, applicants should click on "Low-Income Homeowner Assistance Program" and begin the application.

Eligibility requirements can also be found on the page. Note that applicants must live within Greensboro city limits and have a combined household income of $58,600 or less. Eligible homeowners may apply for assistance through both the City of Greensboro's and Guilford County's Low-Income Homeowner Assistance programs.

Residents who received assistance in previous years are required to submit another application if they wish to participate in the program again.
