Sen. Fontana Announces $4.4 million for Victim Services & Violence Prevention

Allegheny County - December 11, 2025 - Today, Senator Wayne Fontana announced $4,403,530 in state and federal funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for agencies and organizations that serve the people of the 42nd District. These grants provide critical funding for victim services and local violence prevention initiatives.

"I am proud to support this impactful investment into the safety of our families, friends, and neighbors," said. Sen. Fontana. "Effective violence prevention measures and invaluable victim services programs have wide-reaching, positive effects throughout our communities.

Awardees that serve the 42nd District include:

  • A Child's Place - $50,000 in State Children's Advocacy Center funds.
  • Allegheny-Singer Research Institute - $500,000 in Federal State Opioid Response Grant funds.
  • Allegheny County Chief Executive Officer - $200,000 in Federal Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Funds.
  • Alle-Kiski Area Hope Center - $15,162 in Federal Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiatives Grant funds.
  • Center for Victims - $855,545 in Federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funds, Rights and Services Act (RASA) funds, and Victims of Juvenile Offender (VOJO) funds.
  • Crisis Center North, Inc. - $18,580 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.
  • Institute for Research, Education and Training in Addictions - $487,424 in Federal State Opioid Response Grant funds.
  • Passages to Recovery, Inc. - $500,000 in Federal State Opioid Response Grant funds.
  • Pittsburgh Action Against Rape - $80,392 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.
  • Scott Township - $148,680 in Federal Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program funds.
  • Unity Recovery - $500,000 in Federal State Opioid Response Grant funds.
  • University of Pittsburgh - $944,851 in Federal Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiatives Grant Program funds.
  • UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh - $49,757 in State Children's Advocacy Center funds.
  • Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh - $53,139 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.

Sen. Fontana has secured over $19 million in PCCD funding for organizations and communities in the 42ndDistrict this year.
