TRAFFIC ALERT - Kent County - West Street Pathway Project
West Street Pathway Project
Dover - ; The Delaware Department of Transportation announces that construction will begin on the West Street Pathway Project starting Monday, October 6, 2025. Work is scheduled to last approximately four months, weather permitting.
The project includes the installation of curb, sidewalk, and pedestrian connections along:
-Westview Terrace from Dover Street to New Burton Road
-New Burton Road from Westview Terrace to South Queen Street
-West Street from New Burton Road to West Water Street
Road closures and lane restrictions are anticipated during the following times throughout the project:
-Dover Street/Westview Terrace and Water Street: daily from 9 AM to 3 PM
-New Burton Road/South Queen Street: overnight from 7 PM to 7 AM
-South West Street: overnight from 6 PM to 7 AM
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible.
