The Frederick Police Department's Major Crimes Unit has charged a Frederick man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in early December.
On December 5, 2025, officers with the Frederick Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Taney Avenue, in the City of Frederick, in reference to an armed robbery.
During the investigation, it was determined the victim had traveled to the residence the evening prior after a female requested a ride. Upon arrival at the apartment, the victim was met by three males, one of whom was armed with a handgun. During the incident, the suspect pointed the firearm at the victim multiple times and struck him with it, while stealing money from the victim's person and forcing a monetary transfer from the victim's account using his cellular phone.
Through evidence and information obtained during the investigation, one of the suspects was positively identified as Martin Daniel Williams. Williams, 20, has a Monrovia, MD address.
On January 5, 2026, charges were requested by the Frederick Police Department and approved by a District Court Commissioner. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Williams.
On January 7, 2026, detectives conducted a search and seizure warrant at the location where the crime occurred. Williams was taken into custody at that location, and evidence related to the robbery was recovered.
