The Oregon Bankers Association (OBA) Education Foundation ("Foundation") has announced the renewal of its multi-year partnership with Oregon State University (OSU) College of Business ("College"). The renewal includes a $40,000 investment through the 2026-27 academic year aimed at generating interest in banking careers and increasing the talent pipeline for Oregon banks.
The investment substantially supports the enhancement of the College's Commercial Banking courses and the creation of finance-specific, curated engagement opportunities for students and faculty. The OBA will retain its prestigious seat on the College's Finance Advisory Council and will collaborate with the College on the following:
-
Speaker Series:OBA members will share their expertise and insights with students through guest lectures and presentations.
-
Curated Events:The College will organize events focused on minority business recruitment and diversity, equity, and inclusion in banking.
-
Case Competitions:Students will participate in case competitions judged by OBA representatives.
-
Networking and Professional Development:OBA will provide opportunities for students to network and learn from industry professionals.
"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Oregon State University. This collaboration is essential for cultivating the next generation of bank leaders in Oregon. By providing students with hands-on experience and exposure to industry leaders, we are ensuring that our state has a strong pipeline of well-prepared professionals to drive the future of banking," said OBA President and CEO Scott Bruun.
