Local artist Kay the Paint Lady has created a beautiful portrait of Rebecca Howard, which Shawna Hawk, The Women of Color in Leadership Movement, has transformed into an impressive 11' x 12' banner. This mural-style banner will be proudly displayed on the house at Rebecca Howard Park, marking an exciting step forward in the park's transformation.

Calling All Singers 16 Years and Older! Are you ready to be part of a vibrant musical community? The SPSCC Choirs are holding auditions from September 8 to 24, 2025, and we want YOU to join us! Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or just love to sing, there's a place for you: Percival Choir - Our large, community-based ensemble welcomes everyone from SPSCC and the greater community. We perform a wide variety of music, from classical masterpieces to jazz and global tunes. Chamber Singers - A smaller, select group performing mostly a cappella music from Renaissance madrigals to modern pop. Open to all students and community members who love to sing and move! Every summer a few intrepid Evergreeners embark on an intensive adventure to create cameraless animation on 16mm and 35mm film using a myriad of handcrafted techniques not recommended by any manufacturer. Now in our 13th year of this extraordinary course this FREE show is an incredibly rare opportunity to see unique, original film creations projected in glorious 35mm FILM - still higher resolution than any digital. You won't see anything like this anywhere else on this planet. Come prepared for your mind's eye to be dazzled! Plus! Animation will be accompanied by live sounds from the Olympia Improviser Orchestra (OIO), a new community collaboration. OIO spontaneously creates exquisite soundscapes using the concept of conduction - conducted improvisation. In this way focusing and encouraging the unpredictable ideas, individual imaginations, and diverse approaches to music that each musician brings to the group. 8/28 at 4pm at Capitol Theater downtown - Free! Learn more Summer Cycling Cinema You are invited to Summer Cycling Cinema's bike-in movie! Have you ever been to a drive-in movie? It's just like that, but cooler because it's with bikes! Ride your bike, walk, or take a free Intercity Transit bus to a free family-friendly movie showing of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. The movie will be projected outside of Three Magnets Brewing at 600 Franklin St SE Saturday, August 23. Arrive at 7 p.m. to grab snacks and socialize.
