CAMP ZAMA, Japan - Twenty-one Soldiers across Sagami General Depot and six in Okinawa battled through an 8-mile qualifier run Aug. 17 to earn a spot on USARJ's first Army Ten-Miler team in more than a decade.

The top female finisher was Spc. Stephanie Feliciano Vazquez, assigned to the 38th Air Defense Artillery Brigade:

"I am proud of myself for qualifying for the team," Feliciano Vazquez said. "It's a good team to be a part of."

The top male finisher was Capt. Logan Storie, assigned to USARJ.

"I'm excited to help train with the rest of the men and women and to see how well we do," Storie said.

The Army Ten-Miler is scheduled to be held Oct. 11 in Washington, D.C. Around 35,000 runners - military members, civilians, wheelchair athletes and wounded warriors - typically compete in the long-distance event.
