The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) recently participated in VIV Select China 2026, held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, using the internationally oriented livestock platform to strengthen connections between Council members, global industry participants and the Chinese market.
"As part of VIV's global network of livestock exhibitions, VIV Select China offers a different role from China's larger domestically focused livestock and feed shows. Its international profile provides the Council's China office with an additional platform to engage overseas companies and industry professionals already interested in the Chinese livestock sector while maintaining connections with local stakeholders," said Linda Li, USGBC senior program coordinator.
Li and USGBC Senior Accountant and HR Manager Vivien Liu attended the event on behalf of the Council and welcomed participants to the Council's exhibit booth to showcase U.S. feed grains' applications in feed formulations.
USGBC member Trans Globe was also present at the event to connect with international end-users and prospective importers of U.S. feed grains. Later, Li represented the Council during the conference's international summit, where a swine-focused forum brought together Chinese and international experts to exchange perspectives on pork consumption, production practices and approaches to improving efficiency in the swine industry.
"By maintaining a presence at VIV Select China alongside its participation in major domestic industry events, the Council can effectively engage different segments of the livestock sector," Li said.
"The event provided a useful international complement to USGBC's broader market-development work in China and outreach for USGBC member engagement and industry exchanges that improve awareness and demand for feed grains in China."
