City of Atlanta Announces Modified Solid Waste Schedule on Christmas Day

All solid waste services will be delayed one day on Thursday and Friday

ATLANTA - The City of Atlanta has announced that in observance of Christmas Day, the Department of Public Works Office of Solid Waste Services will not collect garbage, recycling, yard trimmings, or bulk items on Thursday, December 25, 2025. As a result, all collection services will be delayed by one day on both Thursday and Friday.

Residents whose regular collection day is Thursday will receive services on Friday, December 26. Residents whose regular collection day is Friday should place their carts curbside by 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, for service.

The regular solid waste collection schedule resumes on Monday, January 5, 2026.
