APRICOT 2026 highlights

The conference kicks off on Monday with the Opening Ceremony and Plenary. Keynote speakers Budi Rahardjo, Founder and Chairperson of the Indonesia Computer Emergency Response Team (id.cert), will explore the intersection between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and Jim Cowie, founder of the Internet History Initiative, will share lessons from the worlds of library science and digital preservation that are relevant to the network operator community.

Monday also includes the APRICOT Plenary with presentations on deep space networking, happenings at the IETF, BGP in 2025, and how AI is a teacher and a trickster.

On Tuesday, get an update on Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and connectivity during two APRICOT Peering Forums. Also, check out the two panels on operational, policy, and resilience realities of LEO networks in the Asia Pacific region and celebrating women leading innovation across technical, entrepreneurial, and governance domains.

Dive into sessions on network operations, network management, and security on Wednesday, plus a tutorial on segment routing and the Lightning Talks, where you can present ideas that are timely, intriguing, or even a little unconventional! Don't miss Jen Linkova's keynote about IPv6 adoption in enterprise networks during the Closing Plenary.

Thursday wraps up with key updates from the APNIC Secretariat at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) sessions, including results for the the APNIC EC election and APNIC By-law reforms.

Get involved in APNIC Special Interest Groups

APNIC's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide an open platform for discussions on key topics relevant to APNIC and the wider Internet community in the Asia Pacific region.

At this year's conference, in addition to the Policy SIG, three other SIGs will take place:

• Joint SIGs session : This Joint SIGs session brings together current APNIC Special Interest Group (SIG) Chairs to discuss and review the SIG Guidelines.
• Routing Security SIG: Gain insights into RPKI in Indonesia, ASPA in the RPKI dashboard, and using RPKI to mitigate social engineering attacks.
• Cooperation SIG: Learn how ICANN provides continuity in times of turbulence, and how that might be emulated in the RIR system.
• NIR SIG< /a>: Hear updates from the National Internet Registries (NIRs), and how to use APNIC's Resource Explorer (REx) to visualize NIR-specific statistics.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the discussion and play a role in shaping the future of Internet governance and security in the region.

Share your thoughts on the policy proposals up for discussion

Two proposals will be discussed at the APNIC 61 Open Policy Meeting (OPM), held by the Policy SIG.

• Prop-164: Allocations of IPv6 resources longer than a /32 with a nibble boundary alignment.
• Prop-168 : Increase to maximum IPv4 delegations.

You can participate by:

• Posting to the Policy mailing list before the OPM.
• Attending the OPM, asking questions and listening to how the proposed policies affect others.
• Join the consensus call to show your support or object to a suggested change.

Voting is open

Member online voting on the proposed amendments to the APNIC By-laws and for the EC election is open from now until the AGM on Thursday, 12 February 2026. Voting closes on Thursday, 12 February 2026, at 14:30 (UTC +7).

APNIC By-law reforms

The resolutions propose a number of amendments to the APNIC By-laws, including:

• Extending EC member terms from two to three years and introducing term limits of three consecutive terms for EC members.
• Making administrative changes to the by-laws.

APNIC EC election

Three positions are open for election on the APNIC EC. The final list of nominees is available in the order of their nominations received. All candidates are bound to the nominee's Code of Conduct. Consider their background, nominee statement, and their history in the APNIC community.

The Electoral Committee is responsible for determining the eligibility of nominees and their compliance with the Code of Conduct.
