Honda Aids Lincoln Food Pantry Recovery Effort After Devastating Fire

• $25,000 contribution from Honda will help restore vital community resource
• Longstanding support of pantry reflects Honda associates' commitment to local community

Weeks after a fire destroyed the Lincoln Food Pantry in Alabama, Honda committed $25,000 to support the organization's recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The Lincoln Food Pantry, which serves up to 1,000 people each month across the region, has been a critical resource for addressing food insecurity in Lincoln and the broader Talladega County area for more than 15 years.

"We are honestly blown away by this $25,000 contribution from Honda. After the fire, we were trying to figure out how to piece things back together, and this donation is exactly the miracle we needed to get our equipment replaced and our pantry back up and running," said Brandon Tate, director of the Lincoln Food Pantry. "Honda has always been a great neighbor, but this really shows how much they care about the people here in Lincoln. We're so grateful to have them in our corner as we get back on our feet."

Honda Alabama Auto Plant (AAP) associates have supported the pantry since its founding through financial contributions, volunteer efforts, special donations and seasonal food drives.

"At Honda, we believe strong communities are built by neighbors helping neighbors," said AAP Plant Lead Lamar Whitaker. "While the fire at the Lincoln Food Pantry was devastating, it also highlighted the resilience of this community. We are proud to support the pantry as it rebuilds and continues its vital mission of serving families in need."

Located minutes from AAP, Honda associates have worked closely with the pantry to help expand access to food and resources for local residents. The pantry is currently evaluating its rebuilding plan while serving the community through mobile food donation sites. The contribution from Honda comes as AAP approaches its 25th year of operation in 2026, underscoring Honda's longstanding commitment to the region.
