Yerwood Center Will Be Closed For Six Weeks

The Yerwood Center will be closed for six weeks beginning on Tuesday, February 17, following the detection of levels of asbestos that were identified in connection with work associated with a planned renovation project. The City of Stamford commissioned a third-party air quality test, and the results indicated that the air quality was within safe standards, allowing for continued occupancy of the building. However, out of an abundance of caution, a decision was made to expedite the abatement process.
The building will be closed to all tenants during the duration of the abatement process. Click here for more information on updated schedule and program locations for the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford. The City will provide additional updates as they become available.
