Touch-a-Truck celebrates new maintenance facility

Dunwoody, GA - May 13, 2026 - The City of Dunwoody will celebrate the grand opening of the new Brook Run Maintenance Facility from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at Brook Run Park. All are welcome to this family-friendly event, which will feature Touch-a-Truck and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"This project is a game-changer for our operations," said Dunwoody City Manager Eric Linton. "The old maintenance building was cramped, aging, and even fire damaged. The new facility was designed to support current and future maintenance needs for parks and public works."

Touch-a-Truck will feature construction equipment provided by city contractors, TriScapes, Sunbelt Traffic, and Moeller Purcell. Kids will have the opportunity to explore a mini-excavator, skid steer, bucket truck, and more. They can also enjoy free ice cream. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to stop by the event, then stay in Brook Run Park to enjoy the Dine Around Dunwoody Kickoff, a refreshed successor to Food Truck Thursdays hosted by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association. This is the first in a series and will feature live music by G-Clef & The Playlist.

As a safety measure, the Peeler Road entrance to Brook Run Park will be closed during the Grand Opening. Drivers can use the park entrances on N. Peachtree Road and Barclay Drive to access the festivities.
