NEW: Consumer Sentiment Drops to LOWEST ON RECORD Arrow

New economic data released today shows that consumer sentiment in April collapsed to the lowest level EVER as consumers' inflation expectations for the year ahead jumped significantly from 3.8% to 4.8% amid Donald Trump and JD Vance's unpopular war of choice in Iran. Over 70% of Americans said the government is doing a poor job on economic policy.

This follows today's Consumer Price Index report for March, showing that inflation surged to 3.3% in March, almost a full point higher than the month before and higher than it was when Trump took office.

In response,DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"Donald Trump has tanked the economy for working families. Everyday Americans were already struggling to afford rent, groceries, and prescription drugs, and then Trump decided to start a reckless war with Iran and push prices even higher - and for what? Americans are drowning under rising costs, flat wages, high unemployment, and historic layoffs - it's no wonder they're concerned about how they're going to make ends meet and Trump and JD Vance can't be bothered to make life more affordable for them."
