Friday Daytime Lane Closures on SR 5/Bill Arp Road as Resurfacing Project Begins
DOUGLASVILLE - Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install daytime lane closures on Post Road and Yeager Road this weekend as crews begin an off-system safety project in eight different locations in Douglas county. Crews will restripe the lanes in these locations to enhance driver visibility and safety.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, one left or right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Post Road from Veterans Memorial Highway to Highway 166 on Saturday, April 26 and on Yeager Road from Kings Highway to W. Chapel Hill Road on Sunday, April 27.
This $420,000 safety project is scheduled for completion in summer 2025.
As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
