On September 24, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin and Mrs. Li Lihong held a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Mr. Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden, along with friends from all walks of life in Sweden, foreign diplomatic envoys to Sweden, and representatives of overseas Chinese, companies and students in Sweden, totaling over 800 people, attended the event.
Ambassador Cui stated in his remarks that China has made remarkable achievements in development over the past 76 years since the founding of New China. Chinese people's lives have steadily improved, and Chinese modernization is embracing brilliant prospects. As a major victorious nation in World War II and a founding member of the U.N., China will stay committed to the path of peaceful development, and demonstrat its sense of responsibility in the face of the changing international landscape. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden. China stands ready to work with Sweden as to stay commited to the original aspiration of the two countries when establishing diplomatic ties, and to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.
Mr. Dousa extended his warm congratulations and expressed that Sweden attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China.
At the reception, artists from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts presented the Peking Opera performance of The Legend of the White Snake, earning rounds of applause in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
