Yelkur honored with international business award

June 18, 2026 ― DENTON ― Rama Yelkur has been recognized by an international business group for her contributions in supporting, mentoring and contributing to women educators and business education.

Yelkur, executive dean of the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship, received the Patricia M. Flynn Distinguished Woman in Business Education Award at the Women Advancing Management Education Affinity Group meeting at the 2026 International Conference and Meetings, hosted by AACSB International in Seattle.

"I am humbled and honored to receive this award and to be recognized by my peers," Yelkur said. "I am proud to stand alongside the extraordinary women who have received this honor before me, who continue to open doors and pave the way for future women leaders."

The award is named in honor of Patricia M. Flynn, professor emeritus of management and economics at Bentley University, who was the inaugural recipient. The Flynn Award recognizes female thought leaders whose leadership, research and educational initiatives have had an impact on women in the industry.

Under Yelkur's leadership, the MAK College received a highly coveted designation in 2023 with its accreditation from AACSB International, considered the world's leading association of business schools.

Yelkur currently serves on the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Board of Governors as well as the KERA North Texas Board.
