Manoj Somagutta, MD, has joined UNC Health Orthopedics at Southeastern Health Park and the medical staff of UNC Health Southeastern. He specializes in both sports and family medicine.

His clinical interests include non-operative management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, sports medicine, ultrasound-guided procedures, and preventive care.

"I chose medicine because I enjoy building relationships with patients and helping people stay healthy, active, and able to do the things they love," said Dr. Somagutta. "I believe in listening to my patients, understanding their goals, and working together to develop a practical treatment plan that fits their lives."

He completed medical school at Avalon University School of Medicine, Willemstad, Curacao. He completed a family medicine residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL, in 2025, and a sports medicine fellowship at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2026. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Somagutta enjoys traveling, cycling, exploring new places, going to the beach, attending concerts and comedy shows, and playing cricket and racquetball.
