Agrivoltaic plant in Santa Maria di Galeria: meeting of the Italy–Holy See Joint Committee

The inaugural meeting of the Italy-Holy See Joint Committee that will follow the work to build the agrivoltaic plant in Santa Maria di Galeria, in the Municipality of Rome, was held at Palazzo Chigi this morning.

The Committee is provided for by the agreement between the Italian Republic and the Holy See signed on 31 July 2025.

The meeting, co-chaired by Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Alfredo Mantovano and President of the Vatican City State Governorate Sr. Raffaella Petrini, was attended, on the Italian side, by Chiefs of Staff and technical representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Roma Capitale as well as by ARERA [Italian Energy Authority] and energy providers Terna and Acea. On behalf of the Vatican, representatives from the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (A.P.S.A.), the Governorate and the Gendarmerie Corps were present.
