He made fourth place in the electronics category and earned a Medallion for Excellence.
Schaumberger had to prove his skills in three modules (Hardware Design, Embedded Systems Programming, and Fault Finding). On the first day of the competition, participants were tasked with calculating and simulating analog and digital circuits and the creation of a circuit board layout. On the second and third day of the competition, they demonstrated their skills in troubleshooting & repair and in programming STM32 microcontrollers. The JKU employee even achieved the highest score in the hardware design module, which is quite an accomplishment. The hard training over the last few months with his coach Simon Dorrer, university assistant at the JKU clearly paid off.
This success also attests to the industry-oriented and modern electronics education at the JKU and demonstrates the university's willingness to send employees to international professional championships to represent Austria in their respective fields. Other examples include the bronze medal at EuroSkills 2021 and fourth place at WorldSkills 2022, where JKU students and interns also participated under Dorrer's guidance.
