Wild West Days Returns January 31, 2026 to Celebrate 150 Years of the Yuma Territorial Prison

The Yuma Territorial Prison is kicking off its 150th anniversary celebration by bringing the Old West back to life with the 2nd Annual Wild West Days, taking place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This full-day event serves as a fundraiser supporting preservation efforts and educational programming at the historic prison.

Following a successful inaugural year, Wild West Days returns bigger and better with a packed schedule of entertainment, history, and hands-on experiences for all ages. Guests can expect a lively day filled with Old West stunt shows, live country-western music, prison history presentations, and interactive activities that celebrate the rugged spirit of the frontier.

Live music will take center stage throughout the day, featuring performances by Sojourn's End, Gentlemen Bandits, Lance Kramer, Faith Lynn Band, and closing out the event, the Chavez Family Band. Additional highlights include the Best of the West Beard & Mustache Contest, Victorian Runway Fashion Show by the Yuma 1800 Club, mechanical bull riding, old-fashioned carnival games, a Build-Your-Own Cowboy Hat Bar, Cigars by Son of a Gun, and more.

Guests can also enjoy finger-lickin' eats and cold beer available throughout the day, adding to the authentic Wild West atmosphere.

For guests 21 and older, a Whiskey Tasting Experience add-on will be available, hosted by Sommelier Anna Kohler of Guzman Hospitality Group. This immersive experience features a guided tasting of three whiskeys inspired by the bold flavors of the Old West. Two sessions will be offered at 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., with limited seating available. Advance purchase is strongly recommended.

"Wild West Days is a unique way for the community and visitors to step back in time while supporting one of Yuma's most iconic historic landmarks," organizers shared. "As we celebrate 150 years of the Yuma Territorial Prison, this event helps ensure its stories and structures are preserved for future generations."

Tickets are available online and at the door, with advance purchases encouraged.
