MADISON - The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today announced that a new round of grant funding is available to Wisconsin school districts to help train students and fill critical workforce needs in advanced manufacturing and construction. Up to $1 million in grant funds is available through the Expanded Wisconsin Fast Forward (WFF) program.
Award amounts ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 will be available for school districts to prepare high school students in technical fields to ensure Wisconsin has a skilled workforce into the future.
"These grants are critical investments in our workforce of tomorrow helping ensure high school students are exposed to in-demand careers in areas such as advanced manufacturing and construction while gaining valuable skills that employers in our state need," said DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek.
Wisconsin Fast Forward Technical Education Equipment Training grants reimburse school districts for construction, renovation, or improvement of school district facilities for the purpose of training students or for acquiring tools and equipment used in construction-related and advanced manufacturing fields. This may also include software, related materials and instructional training for instructors and pupils in operating the tool or equipment.
During Manufacturing Month, initiatives like WFF grants underscore the importance of supporting programs that help students gain the skills, education, and training to pursue successful, family-supporting careers in manufacturing. Grants benefit students and their families by reducing higher education costs through dual enrollment credits, industry-endorsed certificates, and technical endorsements on high school diplomas.
Applications must be submitted by 3 p.m. CST on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026.
Find additional information and access to the Submittable online application system on the Wisconsin Fast Forward Program website.
