Future Beer Leaders Deliver 1,300 Toy Kits to Kansas City Hospital

Kansas City, Mo. - As future leaders of the beer and beverage distribution industry gathered in Kansas City, they gave back to their host city by delivering more than 1,300 kits filled with toys, games and art supplies to Children's Mercy Hospital.

Over 200 beer distribution professionals kicked off NBWA's 13th Annual Next Generation Success in Leadership Conference by assembling "happy kits" for patients and families at the hospital, while getting cheered on by the Kansas City Chiefs' Cheerleaders and Rumble Drumline.

"Next Gen leaders are the energy behind an independent beer and beverage distribution industry that delivers approximately $180 million in charitable impact each year," said NBWA Chair Steve Beykirch, President of Eagle Beverage Corporation in nearby Frontenac, KS. "We're grateful for the opportunity to showcase the industry's huge heart and do our small part to support Kansas City families."

Children's Mercy Hospital received the kits on November 11 and has already begun distributing these much-needed supplies to patients.

"Filled with toys, games, and art supplies, these kits bring joy, comfort, and much-needed distraction to our patients and families across all of our sites of care in Missouri and Kansas. Thanks to this donation, countless smiles have brightened our hospital," said Stephanie Easley, CCLS Assistant Director, In-kind Giving and Community Groups Department of Philanthropy at Children's Mercy Kansas City.

Held November 10-12, NBWA's 2025 Next Generation Conference gathered emerging beer distribution leaders for valuable industry education and leadership training. Outgoing Next Generation Chair Aaron Caffey noted that charitable efforts come second nature to beer distributors, who regularly contribute to a wide range of community causes.

"Beer distributors pride ourselves on always answering the call to support our neighbors. Kansas City has welcomed us with open arms, so it means a lot to be able to pay it forward by helping local families in their time of need," said Caffey, Executive Vice President of Caffey Distributing and Carolina Premium Beverage.

NBWA's Next Generation Group brings together emerging leaders in the beer and beverage distribution industry. The group focuses on learning more about the beer business, getting involved with the association and networking with other distributors from across the country representing all brands.
