OSCEOLA, IOWA - Southwestern Community College (SWCC) and Osceola Food, LLC, a local manufacturing facility owned by Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE:HRL), are partnering to train employees for the workforce.
Four Osceola Food employees were selected for training through Southwestern's applied engineering technology program. These students include Enrique Ruiz Jr., Jesse Diaz, Samantha De Leon, and Ediberto Garza.
SWCC's applied engineering technology program is offered at the newly constructed Osceola Regional Business and Industrial Technology (ORBIT) Center in Osceola. This 9,000-square-foot training facility was made possible due to a partnership between Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC) and SWCC.
