Rosina Food Products hosted 33 students from Niagara University's Holzschuh College of Business Administration for a tour of its West Seneca production plant on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The students saw how the company's pasta and meatballs were made, learned more about the business, and were able to try samples of the food.
Rosina representatives explained food sourcing, quality assurance/control, logistics of making the products, and shipping procedures during the tours. The students also heard from Russell Corigliano, president and CEO of Rosina Foods, and several NU alums regarding Rosina's operations, growth potential, and the benefits of working as a member of the Rosina team. The alums shared how their NU education prepared them for career success, how they have felt supported at the family-run firm, and offered other suggestions for young professionals beginning their careers. The students also learned more about internships and career opportunities at Rosina.
"My experience at Rosina Foods provided valuable insights into business operations," said Rhys Mandaville, a senior marketing major. "The factory tour provided an in-depth look at the manufacturing processes, while an informative session covered various sectors such as supply chain management and marketing. I was impressed by the extensive range of operations and career opportunities available to employees."
"Touring Rosina's food manufacturing plant gave me great insight into the world of food supply chains," agreed senior management student Nathan Dragon. "The team from Rosina was super enthusiastic, and I appreciate them allowing us to actually look into their manufacturing floor, where we saw firsthand how these products are produced."
"The tour of Rosina was a great opportunity to get out of the classroom and physically see how manufacturing is done," added Brett Verral, a junior supply chain management major. "Being able to hear from NU alumni from all departments of Rosina made me realize that in the future, I could be in their shoes."
"The visit allowed our students to see firsthand the application of multiple concepts learned in our Operations Management course, such as capacity management, production planning, and quality assurance," said Dr. Fernando Naranjo, assistant professor of management, who helped facilitate the tour. "These site visits have enriched the high quality of business education offered by Niagara University and have become an integral component of our experiential learning offering."
Phil Catanese, director of centers and college outreach; Dr. Krieg Tidemann, assistant professor of economics; and John Zimmerman, Niagara University's Robert B. Wegman external director of food and supply chain and former senior vice president of business development at Rosina Foods, also helped to arrange the visit.
