Emrick, Boscola Announce Nearly $2 million in State Grants for 137th District Projects

December 18, 2025

HARRISBURG - Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Northampton) and Sen. Lisa Boscola (D-18) today announced $1,939,159 has been awarded for 137th District projects through the Local Share Account (LSA) by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

"I have fought hard to make sure our local communities get their fair share of statewide dollars to complete priority projects," Boscola said. "These projects have been identified by local government leaders as important to improving the quality of life in their communities through funding for public safety, community development and recreation projects," Boscola added.

"The grants that we worked so hard to secure support our local emergency service providers with equipment that is vital to serve and protect our community," said Emrick. "It's great that we can meet such critical needs and strengthen emergency service response across the 137th District, especially knowing these funds are derived from gaming revenues and not taxpayer dollars."

Boscola and Emrick said they were pleased to work with their colleagues in the Lehigh Valley legislative delegation in a bipartisan manner to secure the state funds, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), for investment in the following projects:
Statewide Local Share Account (LSA)

• Bethlehem Township - $233,021 - Ambulance Remounting Project.
• Bethlehem Township - $75,699 - Firefighter Radios for the Nancy Run Fire Department.
• Bethlehem Township - $93,423 - Purchase of Police Patrol Car.
• Bethlehem Township - $118,041 - Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company Radio Equipment Purchase.
• Lower Nazareth Township - $86,878 - Colonial Regional Police Vehicle.
• Nazareth Borough - $50,000 - Public Works Vehicle.
• Palmer Township - $250,000 - Bicycle Path Rehabilitation.

• Upper Nazareth Township - $138,000 - Public Works Bucket Truck.
• Upper Nazareth Township - $744,097 - UNT Radios for Police & Fire Departments.

Local Share Account funds are generated by the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 71 of 2004), which provides for distributing gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects in the public interest within Pennsylvania.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development to administer Pennsylvania's economic stimulus packages.
