Georgia DOT to Host Media Opportunity to Provide Update on Preparations for Winter Storm


WHAT: Georgia DOT will host a media availability at GDOT's Maintenance Activities Unit (MAU) on Thursday, January 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide a status update on the department's operations in preparation for this weekend's winter weather, including an overview of materials and equipment being deployed in advance of the storm's arrival. Media can gather b-roll footage of brine preparations and report live from the MAU. GDOT's MAU is home to the state's largest brine operation, where hundreds of thousands of gallons are made and stored for road treatment before and during winter weather storms.

WHO: GDOT Spokesperson Natalie Dale will be available to comment on the current status of Georgia DOT's winter weather preparedness and the anticipated impact to travel in the region.
