CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) is excited to announce that Richard McCurley has joined the team as the new Director of Aviation as of October 6, 2025. With more than 35 years of experience in the aviation industry, McCurley brings a wealth of knowledge in air service development, business and commercial development, and operational management. He will be responsible for overseeing all strategic and daily operations of the airport.
Mr. McCurley joins CCIA from Albuquerque International Sunport and Double Eagle II Airport, where he most recently served as Director of Aviation. During his tenure, he managed a significant budget and a large team while overseeing a major capital improvement program, which included a $90 million terminal renovation project. Before his time in Albuquerque, he held leadership roles at T.F. Green Airport and William P. Hobby Airport. As Chief of Staff at T.F. Green, he oversaw operations, maintenance, and public relations for the main airport and five additional general aviation airports. His experience also includes serving as Interim General Manager at William P. Hobby Airport, where he managed daily operations for one of the nation's busiest airports.
The airport is confident that McCurley's extensive experience and proven leadership will be a tremendous asset to the CCIA team and the Corpus Christi community.
