We’re Proud to Support America’s Favorite Pastime

There's nothing quite like enjoying an ice-cold lemonade and a hot dog at a summer baseball game. American agricultural producers support America's favorite pastime, making it possible to enjoy all the tasty foods and drinks you love during the game.

The American Sugar Alliance proudly partnered with Ducks Unlimited, National Cotton Council, the U.S. Rice Producers Association, Farm Credit, and the U.S. Peanut Federation for the third year in a row to host a reception for members of Congress and their teams ahead of the 2026 Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. Hardworking farmers and ranchers produce sugar, rice, peanuts and other staple ingredients that make up your favorite baseball snacks and drinks. Plus, we can't forget about the cotton produced to make your favorite team's jerseys!

It was great to see such widespread, bipartisan support for American agriculture, including sugarbeet and sugarcane family farmers and workers. America's sweetest industry represents over 151,000 good jobs across more than 2 dozen states.

Without a strong domestic agricultural sector, America would have to rely on foreign countries to get essential ingredients like sugar. That's why we need strong support from U.S. lawmakers to keep family farms and factories from going out of business and offshoring our sugar production. American sugar producers are some of the most efficient producers in the world, they just need U.S. sugar policy and updated over-quota sugar tariffs to level the playing field against unfair practices from other countries.

Here's three ways Congress can help score a run in support of American family farmers and workers:

⚾️ Double. Continue to invest in America's family farms and factories.

⚾️ Triple. Pass a full five-year Farm Bill.

⚾️ Home run. Stop the flood of over-quota sugar imports from other countries.

Thank you to USDA Deputy Secretary Stephen Vaden, and Reps. Troy Carter, Monica De La Cruz, Michelle Fischbach, Jeff Hurd, David Kustoff, Frank Lucas, and Derrick Van Orden for joining us at our reception. Your continued support of U.S. farmers, ranchers, and workers is greatly appreciated. You help us keep it sweet in America!
