China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland Ambassador Jia Guide Meets with Permanent[...]

On March 10, 2026, Ambassador Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with Mrs. Erica Schouten, Permanent Representative of the Netherlands.

Ambassador Jia Guide said that the current international situation is marked by heightened turbulence, with multilateralism facing headwinds. China and the Netherlands should jointly advocate and practice genuine multilateralism on the Geneva platform, enhancing mutual understanding and bridging differences through candid exchanges, to bring greater certainty to the fluid global environment.

Ambassador Schouten expressed the Dutch side's appreciation for China's steadfast support for multilateralism and its significant role within the United Nations system. She looked forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China on the Geneva platform to jointly uphold multilateralism and the authority of the United Nations.
