How Boaters Can Help Keep Fort Lauderdale Waterways Clean

After a day on the water, be sure to:

  • Use onshore pumpout facilities and waste dump receptacles to reduce or eliminate the discharge of sewage into waters.
  • Do not discharge any sewage (even treated sewage) while moored at a marina. Never discharge untreated sewage into U.S. territorial waters.
  • Follow the instructions when using and maintaining a marine sanitation device.
  • Whenever possible, use restrooms and showers provided on land.

Marine Vessel Sewage Pump Out Stations

The City operates four complimentary pumpout locations. The four locations include:

Self-Service 24/7

  • Cox's Landing Boat Ramp - 1784 SE 15th Street
  • Smoker Park - 501 S. New River Drive

Assisted Service Only - 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (7 days per week)

  • Marshall Point - 410 SW 4th Avenue
  • Cooley's Landing Marina - 450 SW 7th Avenue

Coming Soon: Sewage Pumpout Vessel

The City of Fort Lauderdale will introduce a free on-demand sewage pumpout service using its own vessel starting in spring 2026. This program, funded through a Clean Vessel Act grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, will make it easier and more convenient for boaters to empty waste holding tanks without discharging into waterways.
