Montpelier, VT - The Vermont Agency of Education, in conjunction with the Vermont 250th Anniversary Commission, Vermont 250th Education and Outreach Committee, and the Vermont State Curator's Office announce UNFINISHED REVOLUTIONS: Vermont Student Art Celebrating the 250th - an art exhibition in the Vermont State House Cafeteria Gallery through the month of March.
Over 150 students from kindergarten to grade twelve, representing fourteen schools across Vermont, submitted around 130 original artworks. These works reflect how the principles of the American Revolution, 250 years later, continue to resonate and shape life in our country today.
The Vermont 250th Art Exhibition will be in the State House Cafeteria and open for public viewing during State House operating hours , between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. most weekdays, through Friday, March 27.
Up to three of the artworks will be selected by the Vermont State Curator for permanent inclusion into the Vermont State Art Collection. These determinations will be publicly announced at the closing celebration on Thursday, March 26 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
Starting in May, part of the exhibition will be on display at Chimney Point , a Vermont State Historic Site, in Addison for the 2026 season. More information will follow once the show is mounted.
Through December 2027, the Vermont 250th Anniversary Commission will facilitate statewide observances of the American Revolution . By supporting local planning and grant opportunities , the Commission ensures that the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding remains a central focus for Vermont's cities and towns over the next three years. Stay tuned for additional student opportunities coming up in the Fall of 2026!
