Bechtel today announced plans to modularize the NVIDIA Omniverse blueprint to accelerate how multi-generation, gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure is designed and built. By turning the NVIDIA Omniverse blueprint designs into a scalable, repeatable format, new AI capacity can be delivered faster across the globe. Bechtel will showcase modularization of AI factory design at NVIDIA GTC 2025 in Washington, D.C.
Bechtel aims to cut data center build times and speed customers' path to the operational "first revenue token" milestone - the point when a facility successfully processes its first production piece of data. Bechtel is applying innovation to modular construction and drawing on decades of data-driven megaproject delivery.

Bechtel aims to reduce data center build times and accelerate customers' path to the operational "first token" milestone, leveraging its decades of experience in industrial modularization and data-driven project delivery.
"Bechtel and NVIDIA teams are catalysts for transformative innovation in the delivery of AI factories," said Catherine Hunt Ryan, President of Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology. "By combining NVIDIA's hardware optimization with Bechtel's record of executing complex megaprojects, we can deliver AI infrastructure that's faster to build, more reliable to operate, and ready to scale globally."
Bechtel is focused on delivering projects that meet the highest standards of quality, cost, and schedule, helping customers achieve reliable returns on the significant investments they're making in AI infrastructure.
"Customers are scaling up AI capital projects faster than ever," said Hunt Ryan. "They're moving to multi-gigawatt, multi-billion-dollar deployments and need partners who understand not just the evolving technology, but the massive infrastructure required to support it. Delivering AI infrastructure requires speed and predictability to achieve our customers' return on the massive capital employed."
Bechtel is streamlining design and construction, which in the data center sector has long been a complex, multi-contractor process. The company is redefining data center delivery with an integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning model. This end-to-end integration allows Bechtel to deliver every element of an AI factory - from power generation and water treatment to data centers and supporting infrastructure - with the speed and reliability needed to keep pace with global AI demand.
Bechtel is supporting customers as they scale advanced manufacturing capabilities across semiconductors, data centers, pharmaceuticals, and the battery value chain to meet growing global demand. Learn more at bechtel.com/markets/manufacturing-technology.
