Layoff Tracker: Mass Layoffs Continue as Trump Ignores the Job Market Arrow

Donald Trump's job market continues to tank. As everyday Americans get laid off and struggle to find full-time jobs, Trump has spent his time overseeing the White House ballroom renovations, touring Graceland, and golfing at Mar-a-Lago for three straight weekends while his deadly and costly war of choice with Iran rages on.

Trump's reckless trade war already pushed layoff announcements past one million last year, as more layoffs continue to be announced:

Last week, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell rang the alarm bells on Trump's job market, saying that the Fed is deeply "concerned about the very, very low level of job creation" and that there's been "effectively zero net job creation in the private sector" over the past six months. Young Americans across all education levels are even facing the most challenging job market in years as they try to begin their careers.

And despite the Trump administration's touting of the metric, the ‌Labor Department reported that U.S. worker productivity growth slowed more than initially thought in the fourth quarter. This caused the cost of making goods to skyrocket because wages increased while output stayed low.

The S&P also saw a decline in employment for the first time in over a year, reflecting that businesses are holding off on hiring across both manufacturing and service industries because of the detrimental state of the economy.
