CSPC Releases Report Outlining Policy Recommendations for PNT Resiliency

The Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress (CSPC) released a new report - Preparing for a Denied Environment: Building a Resilient PNT Architecture. The report is the result of a high-level simulation, part of the Center's National Security Space Program, conducted with experts from government, industry, and academia who came together to explore what would happen if GPS were attacked by China in the port of Houston and the civilian and military repercussions.

Protecting Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) capabilities is critical to national security and economic stability, and the report outlines response options, challenges, and policy recommendations to ensure a complement and backup to GPS. One of the key policy recommendations is to incentivize the development and deployment of multi-source and backup PNT solutions, including ground-based systems.

Read about additional policy recommendations in the report.
